South Florida Peacock Bass

Peacock Bass fishing in Miami lately has been good. Our fish are the Amazon butterfly peacock bass which get only about 10 lbs. at the biggest. South Florida is the only place in the United States where these species can be caught. We've had three guided trips this month and all were fairly successful landing a few close to 5 lbs. So if the Brazil trip is unaffordable for Peacock Bass consider South Florida to catch these unique species. Contact us below at floridafishing@bellsouth.net for booking a guided trip for largemouth or peacock bass.

South Florida Peacock Bass 11-2-08

The last few weeks in South Florida for Butterfly Peacock Bass has been good. Our water levels have dropped from all the summer rains and are now cooling off which should increase the fish activity. We had two guided trips and they were quite productive. Each trip we used mostly shiners and jigs. The peacock bass usually run a little larger this time of year. I've seen quite a few large males swimming with females already. The water temperatures in the high 70's usually mean great fishing and spawning. It's great to see these big fish still swimming shallow in these canals. For more information about fishing South Florida e-mail us at floridafishing@bellsouth.net or call me at (954) 445-1811.

South Florida Peacock Bass 7-22-08

Just some more great fishing in South Florida for Peacock Bass. These Amazon butterfly peacock bass are stocked all over southeastern Florida in the Miami and Ft. Lauderdale area. Every lake, canal or waterway usually contains a fair to good population of these great fish. Today we were out and boated 22 peacock bass to 6 lbs. Not as big as the Brazil's giants but every bit as fun! Miami peacock bass fishing in South Florida is still quite good for this time of year. Paul Goubert and his father Dave from France who now live in Davie, Florida found out how mighty these peacocks are! Paul set the new record for South Florida Fishing Adventures by landing this beautiful 7 1/4 lb. trophy. The guys boated 15 peacock bass for a half-day trip on Sunday all on live bait.
